Summer Challenge #16: Recreate your favorite mani!

Here we come, the final day! Last theme is to recreate the fav mani from other’s past work…which is really hard to choose. All are definitely awesome and great, I couldn’t select just ONE from them!! But then I found that there’s really “beloved” pattern which was supported by many people - “ants on red check blanket (picnic theme)” and “watermelon (picnic + fruit theme)” - but NEVER done by me; OK why not these!?

Just for fun I combined both, so finally it went like “ants gathering around to suck watermelon during the picnic”. It’s pretty typical thing you can see in the summer while you eat outside, no!? :D

So after all…I’d like to summarize all my mani I did in one month here. I’m a bit sad now but also kinda bit proud of myself, just because I MADE IT! As you can see in my preview, I was sooooooo nervous before starting this because I didn’t have so much experience for nail art, but…I’m feeling bit much easier for nail art creation, I can see the door is wide open than before.

It was very, VERY fun opportunity to have, thank you so much for Kaki and Theodora for planning this awesome challenge, and also thanks a lot for girls who ran for a month together, it was really great occasion!! I hope I can join to same kind of challenge someday, but well, now it’s the time to rest… ;)

さて長かった1ヶ月が経ち、ついに夏チャレ最終日ですよー！テーマは「あの人のあのネイルをもう一度」！……なのですが１つだけなんて選べるワケねーじゃん、ということでここはひとつ「皆大好きこの柄よく見たよねネイル」と称して自分なりにアレンジしてみたのが今回のネタであるところの「赤白チェックの上に蟻」＋「スイカ」です。
前者はピクニックをテーマとしたときにやたら出ましたな。蟻だけとか赤白チェックだけとか含めたら11人中5人がこれを取り上げていたという。何で蟻？と思わんではないですがアートネタとしては面白いかなと。後者はピクニックのときに4人、フルーツのときに8人とかアンタらどんだけスイカ好きなの！？くらいの支持率で吃驚したものです（←スイカ嫌い）。まあそんなワケで両方混ぜてみましたよ、と。どうせならと蟻をリアル路線にすべく頑張ってみましたが如何か。蟻や蜂はリアル系のがカワイイと思うのですけれども。そしてポスカ今回も大活躍！特に白黒インクは超使えますな！インクだけ出ないかなーでも乾いちゃうから無理かなーとか思っているところです。
さて1ヶ月ぶっ通しでネイルアート三昧してみましたが如何でしたでしょうか。馴染みの薄いテーマや「お互い被ってねーか」テーマもあったりで毎回頭から煙が出るくらい悩んだり土壇場でデザイン変更したりでいろいろ大騒動だったのですがどうにか1ヶ月やり切れて満足です。しばらくはアートはもういいかなー……といいたいところなのですが実のところ大変だったのと同じくらい楽しかった！特にポスカアートは何かハマってしまいそうだ！ということでまた懲りずに爪にお絵かきしてると思います。趣味なんてそんなもんだよねー！！＜誰にいうとる誰に

Summer Challenge #15: Ocean/Sea

Goal is pretty close now! So today’s theme is Ocean or Sea.
Until reaching this theme, I did almost all the arts I can do with what I have now. But I still wanted to do something different, and decided to go for glitter-sandwich-gradient using marine blue jelly, which definitely gives me an image of brilliant southern sea.

Pretty simple, but I love this.Especially the macro shot reminds me the underwater sight in the sea! I’ve never gone for diving, but seeing this nail it really push me to go somewhere for diving. And my husband HAS the license for diving.
...Alright maybe now’s the time to plan to go for diving someday, at least I really want to go OKINAWA!! :D

So how’s the ocean/sea for others? I know they’re all beautiful :)

さて終わりが見えて来ましたよ15日目、今日のテーマは「海」！
ここまでいろいろアクリルで描いたりポスカで描いたりホロをぽちぽちしたりして来たのでここら辺でちょっとシンプルに行きたくなりまして。かといってタダのラメグラデじゃちょっと面白くないよね、ということでラメをびっちり塗った上でクリア青に再登場いただきグラデにしてみました。ラメがちょうど泡っぽくなって、海底から見上げた感じのネイルになったかなー？と思っています。またクリア青から透けるラメの感じが涼しげでいいなあと！爪先見るたびににまにましております。
さて次はついに最終日です！このままやり通せるのか自分ー！？！？

14th day of the Summer Challenge, today is for swimsuit! But you know what, I don’t own ANY!! :D …Well this is seriously true, actually because of many reason I just lost a chance to get one or two, but at least I could survive :)
Anyway, swimsuit…and because Olympic is coming soon…why not trying for Japanese national team’s wear? :D

I love to watch synchronized swimming, and their swimsuit is always really awesome, especially this season’s wear is very beautiful so I wanted to try it on my nail and that’s today’s result! ;)

All the freehand parts are built up by art lacquer, and I’m happy it went OK; it’s really opaque and was not so hard to control. And I’m also happy that diamond-shaped glitter fit well for my nail size :D

So I think others are carrying much more cute stuff around them…seek it ;)

さて終盤に入って来まして14日目のテーマは水着！って私水着持ってないんですが！！ｗ
いやこっちの人たちってこう、体形が違うからか考え方が違うからかどうにも合う感じの水着がなかなかありませんで……特にフランスでは本当に無くて！三角ビキニ系、しかもカップ無し、が標準となるともう手に取れるものが本当に無く……まあ大体下着類が合わないのだから水着が合うわけがねー、とはいえるのですが。
そんなわけで手持ちで勝負することは最初から諦めましてネタに走った結果がコレです。ええシンクロ日本代表です。正直凄え大変でした。実は今回の夏チャレは「1日おきにチェンジ！？んな暇ねーよ！」いうことで一部を除き基本左側4指にしかアートしてないんですがそれでも大変でした。ネイリストさんは凄い。あるいは毎度毎度10指全部にアートできちゃう人マジ凄い。そんなメンドクセエこと出来ません。いや本当に。
あとよく考えたら初ホロ並べだったんですが……楽しかったは楽しかったんですが、その、ホロ上に気泡が乗りまくっているというのは本当にどうしようと……orz　まだまだ修行が足りませんな。いつもいうてることですが(´・ω・`)

13th day of the Summer Challenge, today is for Favorite Water Animals <3
Well, I KNOW Kaki and Theodora set dolphins or whales for this theme, but actually I’m not that fond of those two…and otherwise it was a bit hard to represent…so I went to my (or even OUR) fav water animal, which is Penguin!! :D

And so above is original source of today’s design. It’s a package design of very classic japanese chewing gum called “Cool Mint” (see above). This gum’s package always had penguins in it, but I took 2007 ver design, especially because they had 4 different ver. of penguins and they are ALL so cute…one is begging! One is fat! One is dancing…OMG <3

And I’m also happy to find that pigment ink from posca marker worked SO WELL!! It was still a bit runny but way, waaaaaaaaaaaay easier than acrylics (at least compare to my crap un-pigmented acrylics), and no need to dilute because it’s INK. I need to get more of them, as I’m not professional and I’m sure I won’t use one whole marker in a week…surely it’ll take more than a year to dry up whole ink :D

夏チャレ13日目のお題は「イルカあるいはクジラあるいは一番好きな水生動物」！……というところでイルカクジラ選ばないのが私クオリティで御座います。あのですね日本人だと解ると必ず聞かれるんですよイルカクジラ云々って。最早うるへーしか思えないので思い入れとかさっぱりだという。好きだといえるのはオルカ、あとマッコウくらいですかね！どっちも超肉食だけどな！ということで水生動物に走りましてペンギンになりますた。いいよねペンギン！かわいいよペンギン！いつか旭山動物園に行くのが我々夫婦2人揃っての夢で御座います。
さてそんなペンギンですがキャラ化されたものよりデザイン化されたもののが好きだったりします。ということで今回はネタをロッテのクールミントガムから拝借致しました。今回の目玉はポスカアート！以前無印のポスカもどきを使って自爆したポスカアートですが、　偶　然　金色ポスカ持っていたことで今回ペンギン部分でリベンジが適い、……そして無印ポスカもどきは「もどき」でしか無いということがよぉーっく解りました。顔料の密度、顔料の細かさ、液の滑らかさ、何を取っても全然別物であります。メタリックインクだったからか少し水っぽく感じる部分もありましたがそれでも全っ然！違う！！ヽ(ﾟДﾟ)ﾉ
実はこっちでポスカ買うと結構いいお値段するのですが、アクリルジプシーするよりはよっっぽどお金かからないので今度画材屋行ったときにでも買い揃えたい所存です。プロじゃないんだしそんなインクどんどこ使うワケ無いしね。白黒金銀あったら結構いろいろ出来ると思うんだ！(｀・ω・´)

12th theme of the Summer Challenge is…Favorite Beach Memory <3
As I’m living “abroad”, one thing I really miss from my home country is the fireworks in summer. Different from western Europe, fireworks for us is very much “summer” stuff and I can show you one example below;

This is from one of most well-known fireworks festival, “Sumidagawa Fireworks Festival”. It began from 1732, and nearly a million people gather around to see more-than-20,000 fireworks within 2 hours. And this is only ONE example, we still have MORE festivals on this season EVERYWHERE in Japan (may be over 200)…which is always riverside or beach or bay area, of course to avoid the accident fire.

So that’s the reason I did for this fireworks mani. As it’s not always held at “beach”, still beach + night = fireworks for me. I’m really craving of these gorgeous gigantic fireworks; especially because I could see them from my old apartment too, which was my favorite summer occasion on that moment ;)

(Just to show the polish’s shimmer…isn’t it GORGEOUS!?!? :D)

So now what’s others beach memory? Night or day? Curious :)

夏チャレ12回目は「一番の思い出＠ビーチ」！となると私には最早一つしか思い浮かびませんそれは　花　火　！
……いや勿論花火大会ったら川っぺりのが多いんでしょうけどね。隅田川とかね。でもほら東京湾岸とかありますし！東京住んでたとき毎年見てましたし！住んでたアパートのベランダからですが！！＜人混み大嫌い
そこはそれとしてやっぱり日本で恋しいものの一つは花火です。こっちでも祝砲代わりに花火をばんばん打ち上げたりするのですが、何というか　面　白　く　な　い　んですよー……大体からして直径が半分以下ですし色もそんな無い（白多し）ですし形もあまりいろいろ無いですし。まあ大きな海辺とか川辺も無いですし、地面から打ち上げ！というパターンも少なくないので事故防止に大きく出来ないのは解りますがやっぱり面白くない。そして花火は輸出入厳禁物の一つなので日本のを楽しみたかったら日本にいるしか無いという。あとこっちだと花火＝新年というイメージが強くて、というかそもそも他の季節には売っていなくて（年末しか売ってはいけないそうな）、夏に花火を楽しむなんぞ夢のまた夢だったりします。
まぁさておきそんななので花火ネイルにしてみました。相変わらずアクリルのピグメントが足りていなくて！でもポリのキラキラで助けられたかなー。浴衣にいい感じなネイルになったかなーと思っているところです。

Today, 11th theme is Sea Shells <3
First I felt like I can use crushed shell chips, but then thought it’s not that unique and interesting…it’s just a material, not “theme” or “art” at all. And then I saw some silhouette images of sea shells and sea shore animals which looked pretty good for me, so I decided to paint them on my nail…

I’m happy for final result with white silhouette arts, but much more happier for the base color. Combination of shimmery glass fleck blue and blue flaky are very beautiful even on the photo but it pops up as a miracle IRL!! This is my new favorite summer color, it really fits to happy summer beach <3

So how about other’s Sea-Shells inspired nail? For sure they are great ;)

さて夏チャレ11日目、お題は「貝殻」！……ってところで安直にシェル使うことを決めかけた自分を殴り倒したいところです。まあさすがにそれは安直過ぎないか、という脳内会議が繰り広げられた結果満場一致で却下という方向に動いた結果が本日の爪で御座いますけれども。
さてこの感じ何処かで見たことあるなー？と思った方は大正解で御座います、元ネタはこちらのシール。とはいえ当然シール買うことなぞできないので頑張ってアクリルでぺたぺたしてみました。しかしいつもながら全く顔料が足りていないこちらのアクリル絵の具に最早発狂寸前で御座います。とはいえ新しいのを買う暇、正確にはきっちり　選　ん　で　買う暇なんてものは今の私には無い！！(´；ω；｀)ということで今月はもうこれで通します。使えなさ過ぎて泣くしかありませんが！orz
俺……このチャレンジが終わったらアクリルガッシュ買うんだ……＜死亡フラグ

Day 10, today is for tropical drinks!
Today’s nail is much like “image of tropical cocktails” and I didn’t really choose one single cocktail, but I love tropical fruit juice-based cocktail with fruit liquors, such as singapore sling, cassis orange, mai-tai, tequila sunrize and so on :D

So image of “tropical cocktail” for me is orange-to-red sparkling something with citruses, I built gradient starting from clear, then orange, coral, red glitters. I added fimo fruits AGAIN but this case it was time for citruses, I mean lemon and orange slices…Doesn’t look pretty yummy? ;)

So now go and let’s see for other’s favorite tropical drinks! They’re always great :D

10日目入りまして今度のテーマはトロピカルドリンクであります！！トロピカルドリンク＝きらめく鮮やかクリアカラー＝ラメグラデしか無かろうJK！となった私は相変わらず発想が物凄く貧困だと思いますが見た目綺麗であればいいのよの精神で行きます(｀・ω・´)トロピカルドリンクなんていろいろあり過ぎるぞどーすれば！と煮詰まった挙句一番好きなカクテル＝カシスオレンジ的な感じでいーやーとなったのはここだけの秘密です＜をい
でも今回結構キレイにグラデ決まった気がする！このオレンジ・コーラル・赤の取り合わせ結構いいかもー。正直フルーツ乗せすぎたと思わなくは無いですが今回はほらトロピカルドリンクだから！ということでもっさり乗せてみました。端が浮きまくって大変でしたがまあそこはそれ。とにかくグラデが気に入ったー！という1本なので何れグラデのみで楽しめたらいいなーと思っている次第です。

Oh, now first half of Summer Challenge is over! The first mani for the second half is themed as…Favorite Summer Memory, so I went straight for recreation of my bridal nail, which was done as below a few years ago…

So now you can ask me why bridal nail. Seriously, tomorrow is our wedding anniversary! Honestly when I saw the date and theme for this 9th theme, I was really surprised and felt there’s no reason not to do my marriage-related nail. It’s truly one of my very best Summer Memory, not only because it’s wedding anniversary, but one thing made us to NEVER forget about that day…

WE GOT GREAT HEAVY SHOWER JUST RIGHT AFTER WE REGISTERED OUR MARRIAGE!! :D That’s the reason I put raindrops on ring finger which was NOT available on original design! It was really right after we went in the car, we got great waterfall from the sky, and we just laughed and giggled about that…it still makes us really laugh :D It’s definitely the most happy (laughing) day I’ve ever had, and probably it’ll be a most happy and funny day in my whole life ;)

夏チャレも後半に入りまして9日目、「一番好きな夏の思い出」で今日が7月17日……ったら私には1つしかありません、ワタクシ実は明日が　結　婚　記　念　日　なのですー！！もう1日ずれてたら最高ではあったのですがそれにしても何この偶然！これはもうブライダルネイルやるしか無いでしょう例えそのネイルがプロの手に寄る物でしかもジェルネイルで結構大変なものだったとしても！！ということで挑戦してみたら意外と上手く行った件。悪くない出来だと思うのですが如何でしょうか。
さて丸っとコピーじゃ面白くないので薬指だけ雨模様にしてみました。というのも結婚記念日、婚姻届を出しに行った日なのですが、婚姻届出す→役場の外に出る→クルマに乗り込む→（3秒）→突然物凄いスコールに見舞われる！！というハプニングがありましてｗ　もう外が見えないくらい、それこそその辺が一瞬で池と化したくらいの本当に物凄い雨、むしろ　滝　で2人して「何だこれー！！」とずっと爆笑していたというｗ　未だに思い出しては「あの時は凄かったねー」「けど完全に回避できてたもんねー」「さすがだよな俺ら（ｷﾘｯ」とやってる馬鹿夫婦です。
まあそんなこんなで一番の思い出はやっぱりこれかなーと。多分今後も（ネタ的な意味も含め）これ以上の思い出はなかなか出来ないだろうなーと思う次第です。

8th theme for Summer Challenge is…Beach ;)
In fact again I don’t have so much habit for beach because I’ve grown up at hillside; and also I like quiet sea shore than fun tropical beach, so those my habit made my nail as shown here.

So wave-shaped double french. Blue marble pattern reminds me of quiet sea shore at early morning. I’m pretty happy that marble pattern went really delicate and crisp; I think this color combination is pretty good, it could be great for water marbling too, I’ll definitely try it on next time :D

Well now I’m so sure other’s are much happy delightful beach than mine!

えー8日目にしてネタは「ビーチ」……ってところで物の見事に何も浮かびませんでしたゴメンナサイ（土下座）大体山育ちで海になんて本当に片手で足りるくらいしか行っていないのに何をどうしろと！海の家！？行ったこと無いよ！！（逆ギレ）
……すみません取り乱しました、けどそれくらいの海貧民なのですワタクシ。そんな状態で頭を絞った結果がコレです。ビーチ＝海岸＝波打ち際＝こんな感じ？みたいな。自分でいうのも何ですが何処がビーチなのかさっぱり解りません。
でもでもネイルとしては結構お気に入り！マーブル頑張った！っていっても毎度お馴染みポリシート大活用ですが！ウォーターマーブルだと大きなマーブルしか取れない一方で、ポリシートマーブルだと上手くやればまさに大理石みたいな細かいマーブルが取れることが解ったのが収穫です。あとこの色の組み合わせも良かった気がする！爪の上で大騒動しなくていい分結構ラクでした。波フレンチも意外と簡単に出来たので今後もいろいろ遊べたらいいなー！

7th day for Summer challenge, today is Ice Cream day!!
I really, really had no idea to represent “ice cream” on my nail but at least I wanted to try for so-called “creamy french” in Japan, so I started with off white just as vanilla, and then I added mint green on…

...And because it looked a liiiiiiiiiiitle bit sad, I chopped my self made “polish sheet”, sprinkled on, and…here comes chocolate-mint ice cream!! :) Actually chocolate-mint is NOT my taste (sorry I hate mint flavor), but it’s my husband’s favorite…he made me so happy when he saw my nail and yelled, “Alright let’s go to the ice cream shop, I need to get a scoop of it!!” XD

さて夏チャレ7日目ですよ今回はアイスクリームネイルですよー！
……ってアイスクリームと聞いていわゆる「とろーりフレンチ」しか思い浮かばなかった自分の発想力の貧困さをどうにかしたい今日この頃ですorz　アイスクリームコーンとか、爪の先が尖っていない限り絶対変になると思うし！けどタダの丸とか違うだろうし！大体アイスクリーム系パステルカラーとか持ってないし！ととととりあえずちょっとシアーな白でとろーりやったらバニラっぽく見えないかな！かな！！……というのがスタートで最終的にこんなんなりましたよ、という。
こんな爪やっておきながら実はわたくしチョコミントアイスって最大級に苦手なのですが（ミント・メントール系全般がダメ）うちのダンナが逆にアイス＝チョコミントというくらいに好きでして。そんなダンナが出来上がったネイルを見て一言、「今からアイス食べに行こう、チョコミント食べたい！！」といったのがちょっぴり嬉しかったりします。あととろーり初挑戦だったのですが意外と上手く行ったので今度はチョコレート系で出来たらいいなーとも思っています(´∀｀)

Summer Challenge #06: Favorite Summer Color

Now 6th day, time for the Favorite Summer Color <3
Summer means sunshine, and sunshine means time for holo! I have several favorite holos to wear on summer, but today I’m going to show a trial that I did recently for summer. It started from brilliant silver holographic polish from Jessica…

...And then I added the diluted version of KIKO335, vivid marine blue jelly…

...Et voila! This is what I got. Oh yes holographic effect is reduced, but it’s still visible and sparkling underneath the juicy marine blue! I’m hoping to do this kind of layering with a bit more darker colors, but as it’s for summer, this brightness could be already good for hot summer sunshine ;)

早くも6日目、一番好きな夏の色ー！わたくし青、それも冴えた青が好きなんですが、太陽が燦々としているなら是非玉虫を塗らねばならんだろう！という観念も持ち合わせておりまして。夏こそコレ！な色は他にもあるのですが、今回はちょっと自分で面白いことできないかなーと思いまして、

トップコートを嫌がる強烈玉虫の上に透明青を塗布

という神をも恐れぬ（？）所業をしてしまいました。……が、やってみたらこれが意外とちゃんと玉虫も出つつ冴えた青はますます冴えて光るという感じになりまして、やっぱり強烈に玉虫だとこうなるのか！と感心しておるところです。ぎらぎら過ぎず、でも玉虫の帯はそれなりにちゃんと出る、いい仕上がりになったと自画自賛中！
まあ問題は希釈倍率が結構難しいところですかね。うすーくして重ねる、というのが調整も含め簡単な気がします。
